Johanna Jaskowska
VISUAL ARTIST & CREATIVE TECHNOLOGIST
Johanna Jaskowska, known as Johwska, is a French & Polish visual artist and creative
technologist. She is best known for Beauty3000, an augmented reality filter used by over 500
million people worldwide, and for work that sits at the intersection of identity, technology, and
beauty.
Her work pulls you in before you understand why. Something in it feels possible, until you realise
it isn't. Beautiful in a way that unsettles you. The vision of a possible future as something you'd
actually want to touch. She works across tech and image-making, building worlds where identity
is something you can iterate.
Self-taught and resistant to categories, she has always moved between worlds: art, technology,
fashion, cultural spaces, finding the work in the spaces between them. She creates from Patio,
her studio and creative space in Madrid.
"What I'm always chasing is a specific tension. The beauty and the strange at the same time.
Something treated so realistically it feels possible, except it isn't. A speculative object that could
exist but doesn't. That sensation of 'this makes sense' about something you couldn't actually
explain."
