World-renowned Graphic Designer from USA, awarded and recognized Illustrator, Art Director and a Partner at the famous creative agency Sagmeister & Walsh JESSICA WALSH will perform at the fourth international advertising festival Ad Black Sea. Festival will be held on 20-22 September in Batumi, Georgia.
Jessica will speak about the value of play, and it's importance biologically and historically. She will discuss how play is at the heart of any creative process which requires innovation, and how one can enter this state mind. Play was crucial to her own development, and she`ll share how it influenced hercareer path.
"Every great game has a strict set of rules, and I think the same goes for design. I think limitations helps creativity thrive. It’s difficult to do something great when the possibilities are endless. Through recent work at Sagmeister & Walsh I show how I create my own rules which help guide me to the concepts, and when it’s a good time to break them."
Blending handcraft, photography and painting with digital design, Jessica works primarily on branding, typography, website design and art installations. Her signature style has been described as "bold, emotional and provocative" with the occasional surrealistic flourish, and her art has been said to look "hand-made and at times quite daring".
She has worked on projects for clients including Levi's, Aizone, Adobe and Colab Eyewear, and rebranding efforts for The Jewish Museum of New York and the Aldrich Contemporary Art Museum in Connecticut.
She won numerous awards, among which: New Star of Design, Society of Publication Designers Award, Art Directors Club, Visual Artist Award at the Print magazine, The Envy Index: 25 Under 25 at the L Magazine, Type Directors Club Award, 25 People Shaping the Future of Design at Complex, GD USA, Webby Award.
